Governors
For governance and financial information please click the link at the top of the page for the Auriga Academy Trust
The Governors work to support the school’s leaders in their realisation of the vision for Capella House School and to ensure the highest possible standards for its pupils.
Following approval from the DfE, the members of the working group became the school’s first Governors and are now recruiting for a number of talented new people to offer a range of skills and experience to the school.
We are very keen to hear from anyone who feels they would be able to serve on the Capella House School Governing Body which meets at least once a term and link to various areas of school development which look at particular issues (such as safeguarding, finance and teaching and learning).
Please contact the school for more information.

Peter Bailey
Co-opted Governor
I am a retired Primary School Head teacher. I have been a head teacher in nine different schools varying in size from 21 pupils to 720 pupils. I have taught in a Social Priority Areas in London and in rural two-teacher schools in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. I have also been responsible for a Hearing-Impaired Unit. I have a granddaughter who is on the Autistic Spectrum and hope to bring an understanding of special needs to this role.
Although I am person who listens to reasoned arguments and gives wide consideration to views that may differ from my own I have personal principles and feel strongly about matters of social justice. With the marked divisions in our country at present I feel it is important that the views of those less well-placed and who have special needs are heard.
I have been a School Governor in a range of schools and was appointed as an elected member of my local council. I am an active member of a political party and have stood in local elections three times. I have been a branch secretary to my professional association the NAHT.
Despite being retired I am an active sportsman playing football into my 70s plus Bowls and Chess

Kirsty Craik
Staff Governor
I want to be a governor as I teach across primary and secondary as well as having a child attending the secondary school. I believe this gives me a unique insight into both schools from a professional and personal point of view. I have also been a trustee at Marble Hill Playcentres where I was responsible Safeguarding and overseeing The Saturday Club provision, to support children with additional needs. Having a child with a range of additional needs also means I have a number of links with organisations that support children with SEND and I think I can bring that experience and understanding to the role.
