Welcome
Capella House is a unique special school for children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Our pupils deserve the very best support, opportunities and encouragement so that they can thrive and achieve their full potential.
Opened in 2019, we are a growing school with purpose-built facilities and a vibrant, welcoming community. We work closely with our partner schools in the Auriga Academy Trust and other local mainstream schools, creating exciting opportunities for shared learning, inclusion, and collaboration.
At Capella House, every pupil’s journey is personalised. Our flexible curriculum is designed around the needs of our learners, balancing academic progress with social, emotional, and therapeutic development. Highly skilled staff, supported by Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other professionals, work together to ensure pupils receive a truly holistic education.
We set high expectations for all and believe success comes when home and school work in partnership. We encourage pupils to take on new challenges, celebrate their achievements, and develop the confidence and resilience they need to succeed in the wider world.
Our leavers leave with a range of recognised qualifications and move on to a variety of Post-16 pathways, including both mainstream colleges and specialist providers. Whatever their next step, we prepare them to succeed and to make a meaningful contribution to society.
